About the Author

Brief About Mr. Tolu Adegbie, BSC, MSC, PHD, HCIB, MNIM, FCTI, FANA, FPA, ACrF, Executive Chairman of Ondo State Internal Revenue Service

Tolu Adegbie hails from Ondo City in Ondo State, Southwest Nigeria. He attended the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) where he bagged his B.Sc. in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. He did his NYSC in Oyo State and earned a Certificate of Commendation for meritorious service during his service year. He then proceeded for his second degree at the University of Ibadan and was awarded M.Sc. in Banking and Finance. He obtained two Diplomas, one in Credit Analysis, and an advanced in Credit Risk Analysis and Management, from the Citibank School of Banking, New York, USA.
He started his banking career with the old National Bank in Ibadan in 1988, and worked in different departments of various banks. In 2005, he took a two-year break from Banking and teamed up with the promoter of an entertainment Company in Lagos, where he was able to attract finance to complete (in 6 months) the entertainment complex that had been under construction for 4 years. He went ahead to restructure the company’s debt financing by sorting out all Tax Administration and outstanding tax issues. The deal was awarded one of the best SME transaction in 2007 by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Following the two-year break, he went back to the banking sector and rose to the position of Head, Corporate Banking of Wema Bank Plc till he was appointed into the service of Ondo State in 2017.
